New Year Destinations?
Coming from SPb. GF and her friends asked me to find them a place for NYE. Looking for two destinations in close proximity, like Vienna/Budapest, Istanbul/Thessaloniki type destinations. Fly to one, bus or train to another before flying home from the 2nd city. Some places we are considering are  Warsaw, Tbilisi, Baku, Sochi (none of those places are close to a 2nd city worthy of traveling to), Istanbul, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, and a slew of others. Maybe I've missed something. I've been to all of these places besides Baku and I'd like to go somewhere new and interesting.

They're all Russians so they really hate the idea of going to Belarus, Poland, Moldova, Bulgaria, and Ukraine.

Looking for places that have terrific nightlife and lively -- not that like bullshit in Germany and other western european places where everything closes at 8pm....we will be at each location for 4 or 5 days so somewhere that will leave us plenty of things to do and see.

I suppose it is probably going to end up being some combination of Prague/Budapest/Vienna even though Vienna is incredibly boring.

I did NYE in Lublin, so I would have recommended Poland.
